GP Earnings

NHS England requires that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the Practice are publicised. All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. It should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the Practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings nor to make any comparison with any other practice. In Addition, the Victoria Medical Centre is the result of a merger of three practices in 2020, and consolidated information for the new practice is not yet available. However, information for the three individual practices prior to the merger is as follows:

The average pay for GPs working in Enys Road Surgery in the last financial year was £53,498 before tax and national insurance. This was for 1 full-time GPs, 5 part-time GPs and one locum GP working for more than 6 months.

The average pay for GPs working in Green Street Clinic in the last financial year (18-19) was £64,440 before tax and National Insurance. This was for 2 Full-time GPs, 5 part-time GPs and 1 Locum GP.

The average pay for GPs working at Bolton Road Surgery in the last financial year was £47,028 before tax and National Insurance. This was for 1 full-time GP and 3 part-time salaried GPs who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.

Consolidated information for the merged practice will be provided when available.
