If you have travelled from China or have been in contact with someone confirmed as having Coronavirus in the last two weeks, you may be at risk of Coronavirus. Please do NOT leave the house. Instead, ring 111 if:

  • You have been in China in the last 14 days and develop cough, fever or shortness of breath; or
  • You have been in Wuhan or Hubei Province in the last 14 days or have been in contact with someone confirmed as having Coronavirus, even if you feel well

The majority of our appointments are available to book on the day but we also have a number of appointments that can be booked up to 6 weeks in advance. If you are making a routine follow up appointment to see your GP please ask for one of these advance or pre-bookable appointment slots.

An on call Duty Doctor is available everyday for any medical problem that cannot wait until the following day.  Please always ring us first before attending the A&E Department, we can usually assess you much quicker than the hospital.

Online Booking

If you are registered to use Online Services you can now make your bookings online.  For more information regarding this please speak to one of our reception team.

Automated Booking

We are pleased to offer an automated booking system which is available for patients to use even when the surgery is closed.  There is no need to register for this service but please check with reception that we hold an up to date telephone number for you on our database.

When the surgery is open the choices are as follows

  • To book an appointment with your registered doctor using the automated telephone system press 1

If you choose 1 you will be asked for the following:

  • To enter your date of birth using six digits ie 02 04 42

  • To enter your telephone number followed by the star key ie 123465* (the system will accept landline numbers with or without 01323 and any mobile number we have on database for you)

  • To book a new appointment press 1

  • To change, check or cancel an appointment, press 2

  • Finally you will be asked to press 1 to accept the appointment or hold for a receptionist
There may be a short delay between each step but on average automated bookings take just over 1 minute to complete

When the surgery is closed the message is played as follows:

  • A message will advise you the surgery is closed and offer the automated booking service by pressing 1

  • Please continue to hold to hear the Out of Hours telephone number and also the number of NHS direct

If you use the automated booking service later in the day you will be offered the next available appointment with your registered GP.  This will vary between 1 and 42 days depending on the GPs duty rota

It is only possible to book an appointments with the GP you are registered with when using the automated system

If you wish to book for a specific date this is now included in the menu options, simply follow the instructions for entering the date if your choice which can be up to three weeks in advance

If your doctor is away, you may be asked by the receptionist if the problem can wait until his/her return; for on-going routine matters and for continuity of care we would always recommend this.  If your problem cannot wait you wil always be offered an appointment with another doctor at the practice.

We would like to assure patients that during surgery opening times a receptionist will always be available to speak to you on the telephone

Mondays are our busiest day and it would be helpful if routine telephone calls and requests could wait until later in the week

Please remember to cancel your appointment if you are unable to keep it

Let us know what you think - if you have comments or constructive critiscism about your presonal use of the automated booking system, please send some feeback via the website
