Pip, Pia, Michelle & Jayne

We have an excellent team of practice nurses who are supported by 3 Healthcare Assistants.

A large amount of nursing time is spent seeing patients in weekly clinics for Chronic Disease management such as Asthma, Coronary Heart Disease, Stroke and Diabetes.

The nurses work closely with the GPs to assess the individual health needs of our patients with a wide variety of medical problems.  Also working with our Healthcare Assisitants to offer advice to patients with regards to healthy eating, reducing alcohol consumption and giving up smoking.

Health Practitioners

Tamsin Ayers - Paramedic Practitioner

Tam is an integral part of the practice team and her role is to assist the GPs in providing urgent care to our patients as well providing a holistic approach to patient care, bringing together medical and social needs and encouraging health promotion in the community.  Tam is able to undertake in-depth patient examinations and assessments and liaise with our GPs to ensure our patients are given timely access to either onward referral of treatment in their own home.

Healthcare Assistants

Tracey & Lydia

Our healthcare assistants are able to monitor blood pressure, take blood tests and perform ECGs.

They carry out health screening for new patients who register with the practice and work closely with the practice nurses and GPs.

Ange is our very experienced phlebotomist who works every day except Wednesdays.  We will always try to accommodate  appointments for you at the surgery to save you the trouble of attending the DGH.
